Location: Quidenham, Norwich, NR16 2NZ
Salary: £12.88 - £13.49 per hour (£23,013.97 - £24,103.92 actual salary per year) depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: 40 hours per week, term time only
Contract: Permanent

Our partner school in Quidenham, Norwich is looking for a caring and motivated Assistant Speech and Language Therapist to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need support with communication, language, and interaction skills.
As an Assistant Speech and Language Therapist at our partner school, you will work closely with therapists, teachers, and support staff to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. You’ll have the chance to focus on small class groups and give each pupil the time and attention they deserve. The role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with speech and language needs, helping them build confidence and fully engage in their learning journey.
About our partner school:
Based in Quidenham, Norwich, our partner school provides day placements for pupils aged 5 - 11 who may experience communication and interaction difficulties, specific learning challenges such as dyslexia, or barriers linked to autism and anxiety. With small classes, high staff ratios, and a dedicated clinical team on site, you’ll be supported every step of the way in your role as an Assistant Speech and Language Therapist.
Key responsibilities:

Assist the Speech and Language Therapist in delivering therapy programmes

Support pupils within the classroom to access both academic and social learning

Create communication-friendly learning environments tailored to each child

Prepare resources and materials for therapy sessions

Liaise with colleagues and external professionals to ensure joined-up support

Help deliver staff training in communication approaches when needed
Skills and qualifications:

GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4 or above)

Experience supporting children with a range of communication needs

Confidence in your own communication skills and ability to motivate others

Strong organisational skills and adaptability

Knowledge of communication systems such as PECS, Intensive Interaction, or visual supports is desirable

A full UK driving licence and access to a car is recommended due to the rural location in Quidenham, Norwich
