Higher Level Teaching Assistant for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Permanent Contract - 35 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks
Salary Scale G18-22 - (£29,269 - £31,364 - full time equivalent salary)
Actual Salary £24,425 - £26,173

Our partner school is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and dedicated HLTA for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
Higher Level Teaching Assistant Role:

To oversee the provision of a short term, supportive learning environment (Compass) for the schools most vulnerable SEMH students.

To work with Heads of Year and other relevant staff to develop and implement individualised learning plans for the schools most vulnerable SEMH students accessing the support.

To work with the parents/carers/guardians, students, Heads of Year and other relevant staff to review the learning plans and their effectiveness on a regular basis.

To work with Heads of Year, Attendance Lead and other relevant staff to reintegrate Compass/Quiet School students back into mainstream classes.

To oversee all aspects of the Compass and Quiet School classroom environment in terms of behaviour, health and safety, safeguarding and learning.

To be responsible for ensuring that only those students with appropriate needs and medical evidence access the Compass or Quiet School provision, gatekeeping that evidence on behalf of the school.

To line-manage the Wellbeing Support Assistant (WSA) for Compass and Teaching Assistant for the Quiet School under the support of the Therapeutic Lead Practitioner.
