The Role
As a Level 3 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support both in the classroom and throughout the wider school day.
Working on a one-to-one basis and with small groups, you will help students access learning, build confidence, develop life skills and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Support students with autism, SLD, PMLD and complex needs
• Deliver personalised learning activities and interventions
• Assist with communication strategies, visual supports and sensory approaches
• Encourage engagement, participation and positive behaviour
• Support students with personal care where required
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Promote emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Essential Skills and Experience
• Experience supporting individuals with SEN, autism or complex needs
• Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent)
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people succeed
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Understanding of person-centred support approaches
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
