Inspire EHC is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our respected client, a specialist SEN school located in South Essex. The school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Contract SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities
As a Contract SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching staff in delivering personalised learning programmes.
- Assist pupils with daily learning activities and promote independence.
- Implement learning strategies and interventions linked to individual Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation in lessons.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the wider team.
- Support pupils' emotional wellbeing through consistent and structured approaches.
- Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support professionals to deliver effective outcomes for pupils.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience working within an SEN environment.
- Experience supporting children with ASD, SEMH and/or MLD.
- A patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
- Strong relationship-building skills with pupils, colleagues and families.
- Effective behaviour management skills.
- Good organisational and communication abilities.
- The flexibility to adapt to changing situations and individual pupil needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable
- Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent.
- Additional SEN-related training or qualifications.
