Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
Salary: £80 - £90 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full Time
Hours: Monday- Friday 08:30 - 15:30
Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting students with additional learning needs to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will provide one-to-one or small group support, adapt learning materials, and implement strategies to promote inclusion and student engagement.
Learning Support Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, or special educational needs.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction and adapt learning resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessment processes.
- Promote independence and self-confidence in students by encouraging active participation and fostering a growth mindset.
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of others.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and respond to changing situations.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork, with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality of opportunity.
- Must have a Child and Adult DBS.
- Must have a Full-Time Right to Work status.
