Job Description
Inspire EHC is working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Great Bookham, Surrey, to recruit resilient and dedicated Learning Support Assistants. The school includes a specialist SEN Hub that supports children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who require consistent, high-level support.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced TAs, psychology graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs. Please note: the SEN Hub is a tough but rewarding environment, requiring patience, emotional resilience, and a calm, adaptable approach.
Key Responsibilities for a Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs
- Support children with a range of complex needs including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional & behavioural difficulties
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans and behaviour strategies
- Promote pupils' confidence, independence, and social development
- Maintain a structured, nurturing learning environment
- Monitor and report pupil progress and behaviour

Requirements for a Learning Support Assistant:
- A genuine passion for SEN and inclusive education
- Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience to work in a challenging environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to follow guidance while also using initiative
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN (in education, care, or similar) is highly desirable
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and provide suitable references
