SEMH Teaching Assistant Brent

We are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic SEMH Teaching Assistants to join our team in Brent, London. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing personalized support and guidance to students with SEMH needs, assisting them in overcoming obstacles and thriving in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCO to develop and implement tailored support plans for SEMH students.
- Offer one-on-one and small group support, aiding students in managing emotions, building coping strategies, and fostering resilience.
- Cultivate positive relationships with students, offering emotional support and encouragement to enhance academic and social success.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.
- Work alongside external agencies and professionals to ensure students receive holistic support and intervention.
- Monitor and track student progress, maintaining detailed records and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEMH students is advantageous, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, enabling the building of trusting relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Must be able to commute to Barnet.
- Full time role, Monday - Friday.
