Position Details:
📍 Location: King’s Lynn, Norfolk
💰 Pay: £12-14 per hour (Inclusive of 12.07% Holiday Pay)
📅 Contract: Temp to Perm, Full-Time (Monday – Friday)
Your Role as a SEN Learning Support Assistant:
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you’ll complement the work of teachers, supporting individuals, groups, or entire classes with learning activities. You’ll also help monitor, assess, and report on student progress, achievements, and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise engaging learning environments and resources.
- Support and adapt teaching and learning activities based on students' needs.
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, dressing, and feeding when required.
- Escort and supervise pupils during educational visits.
- Encourage independence, teamwork, and positive behaviour.
- Use ICT to enhance learning and develop student competence.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic student development.
- Supervise break times and organise play or club activities.
Skills and Requirements:
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Education: Minimum Grade 4 or equivalent in GCSE Maths and English Language.
- Experience: Working with SEN pupils is desirable.
- Transport: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to commute to King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Awareness of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Commitment: Dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners.
