About the Role
Inspire EHC is delighted to be working in partnership with a dedicated SEN school in North Suffolk to recruit a committed and caring SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a contract position.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support professional who has a background working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
You will play an important role in supporting pupils to access their education, develop their confidence and independence, and make positive progress within a nurturing and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in learning activities.
• Assist teachers with the delivery of tailored learning activities designed around individual needs.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Support pupils with their social and emotional development.
• Promote positive behaviour and help pupils develop appropriate social skills.
• Provide personal care and other practical support where required.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is caring, patient and genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
You will ideally have:
• Previous experience working as an SEN Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or in a similar role.
• Experience supporting children or young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
• A good understanding of Special Educational Needs and the challenges some pupils may face within an educational setting.
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning and personal development.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, resilience and a calm approach when supporting pupils with additional needs.
• A genuine desire to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN, education, childcare or care would be advantageous.
