Job: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Temporary (with the opportunity to become permanent)
Start Date: Immediate start available
Working Hours: 8:45am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Location: Near Ashtead, Surrey
Pay: £85 – £95 per day (PAYE)
Setting: Special school supporting primary, secondary and post-16 learners with autism and complex needs
About the Role
In this position, you will provide tailored support to students with autism and complex needs, helping them thrive both academically and personally. Working alongside teachers and specialist staff, you will contribute to a structured, engaging and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe and supported.
Key Duties

Deliver one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.

Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons.

Foster independence, confidence and social development.

Partner with therapists and support staff to meet pupils’ holistic needs.

Maintain a safe, positive and well-organised classroom environment.
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working in an SEN setting, particularly with pupils with autism and complex communication needs.

Communicates effectively and builds positive relationships.

Demonstrates patience, empathy and emotional resilience.

Works confidently both independently and as part of a team.

Is adaptable and responsive to the evolving needs of students.

Holds relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (desirable), or is willing to work towards them.
