SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Student Support: Build trusting, meaningful relationships with students, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and engaged in their learning journey.
- Promote Independence: Encourage students to develop independence and self-confidence, helping them to navigate their educational experience while maintaining high behaviour standards.
- Learning Facilitation: Assist in delivering dynamic and differentiated educational activities tailored to help each student reach their full potential.
- Classroom Assistance: Provide essential support to the class teacher, ensuring daily classroom operations run smoothly and effectively.
- Flexibility: Adapt to the changing needs of the school, assisting with various tasks and challenges as they arise.
- Holistic Development: Support students in their cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development, as well as their spiritual well-being, contributing to their overall growth.
- Team Collaboration: Contribute as part of a friendly, multi-disciplinary team, working together to create a positive impact.
What We’re Looking For in Our SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Educational Qualifications: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- SEN Experience: Previous experience with SEN students is highly desirable, with a passion for working with children with SEMH and ASD.
- Transport: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle or reliable transport for commuting to rural Attleborough, Norfolk.
