We’re delighted to collaborate with an exceptional SEN school near Royston in their search for a dedicated Teaching Assistant. In this role, you’ll provide vital support to students with a diverse range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties, Specific Learning Disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and associated difficulties. You’ll also support students with highly complex learning difficulties associated with conditions such as cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, degenerative conditions including complex medical needs and sensory and physical impairments.

Hours: Monday - Friday (09:00 - 16:00)
Salary: £20,941.63 - £22,834.95 (£11.72 - £12.78 per hour) actual salary depending on experience and qualifications.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time - 40 hrs per week, Mon - Fri. Term time only
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire.
Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Student Support: Build warm, caring relationships with students to help them feel safe and supported, fostering an environment where they can enjoy and learn.
- Promote Independence: Encourage personal development and independence in students, maintaining high expectations of behaviour.
- Educational Activities: Assist in providing high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities that help students reach their full potential.
- Classroom Assistance: The SEN Teaching Assistant will support the Class Teacher with daily classroom activities and ensure smooth operation.
- Adaptability: Respond to the changing needs of the school and adapt to various tasks as required.
- Holistic Development: Promote the cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being of students.
SEN Teaching Assistant Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum Grade 4 or equivalent in GCSE Maths and English Language.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- SEN Experience: Previous experience working with pupils with SEN desirable.
- Transportation: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or ability to commute to Royston, Hertfordshire.
- Compliance: Must have a Full-Time Right to Work status.
