Your Role as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
As an SEN TA, you’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences tailored to each child’s individual needs. You’ll play a key role in promoting independence, communication, and confidence for children with additional learning challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SLD and PMLD.

Assist with implementing personalised learning plans created by teachers and SENCOs.

Use communication tools such as Makaton, PECS, and visual aids to support understanding.

Encourage independence, social interaction, and emotional development.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent progress.

Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SLD, PMLD, or ASD preferred).
