SEN Teaching Assistant (September Start)

We are looking for committed and caring SEN Teaching Assistants to work with us in the Barnet, North London schools. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be essential in helping children with SEN access the curriculum and succeed academically by offering them individualised support and guidance. This position is scheduled to start in September, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact from the beginning of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with classroom teachers and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and tailor learning activities to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
- Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students with SEN, assisting them with academic tasks, social interactions, and independent living skills.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, respected, and valued.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to assess students' progress and develop strategies for their continued growth and development.
- Assist with the preparation and adaptation of learning materials and resources to ensure accessibility for SEN students.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are advantageous but not required.
- Must be able to commute to Barnet.
- Full time role, Monday – Friday (September Start)
- MUST have a permanent right to work status.
