SEN Teaching Assistant - SLD and Complex Needs

Contract: Temp to Perm
Pay: £14.01–£15.40 per hour (dependent on experience)

Inspire EHC is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive school community in Bury St Edmunds.
This blended role combines School Care Work and SEN Teaching Assistant duties, making it perfect for someone who wants to support both the personal wellbeing and educational progress of pupils with diverse needs.
About the Role
You will support pupils in a SEND school with a range of physical, medical, and complex learning needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and mobility support
- Assist with feeding, hygiene, and medical routines
- Support pupils in the classroom with learning and daily activities
- Encourage independence, communication, and emotional wellbeing
- Use appropriate strategies to help pupils engage and regulate
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
- Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and positive school environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional or complex needs
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and safeguarding
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Health and Social Care Level 2/3 or Teaching Assistant qualifications) are desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
