Salary: £13 -£16 /hr, based on experience
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours, 1 or 2 sleep-ins per week (Term Time) Full-time

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker (SEMH) to join our fantastic school in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. In this rewarding role, you'll provide essential care and support to children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. As an integral part of our school community, you’ll work with each child's Individual Support Plan (ISP), aligned with their EHCP and Thrive progress targets, helping them make meaningful progress.
Support Worker (SEMH) - What You'll Do:
As a Support Worker (SEMH)in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, you will be assigned a group of children for whom you’ll provide dedicated, nurturing support. You’ll act as the primary contact between the school, parents, and external agencies, ensuring seamless communication and support for each child. You will also collaborate with teachers, care staff, and external professionals to implement tailored programmes that promote each child’s social and emotional development. Your work will focus on:
- Individual Support: Oversee each child’s ISP, ensuring all aspects of their social and emotional development are addressed, while aligning with their EHCP and Thrive progress targets.
- Family Engagement: Serve as the point of contact for parents, addressing routine concerns and keeping them involved in their child’s progress. Your role will bridge the school and home environments.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside teaching and care staff, as well as external agencies, to create a supportive environment that encourages the child’s growth and eventual reintegration into society.
- Holistic Approach: Support the whole child – socially, emotionally, and academically – by fostering a nurturing and structured environment in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
