Teaching Assistant - Scunthorpe
Salary: £24,570 - £25,935 per annum
Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

Join our partner school in Scunthorpe as a Teaching Assistant, supporting students aged 11 - 16 with special educational needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, ASD, and other barriers to learning. You’ll work in a safe, nurturing environment designed for pupils who have struggled in mainstream education or faced the risk of exclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-class support to help students engage in their learning

Mentor pupils both academically and emotionally, supporting behaviour regulation

Assist with lesson preparation and the creation of resources

Support learning beyond the classroom, including outdoor and practical activities

Write clear, daily reports to track progress and identify areas for additional support

Maintain positive, proactive communication with parents and carers
Requirements:

A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a SEND or alternative provision setting

Strong skills in English and Maths
-
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour management
